North Costa Blanca property for sale

Oliva

Although just a 20-minute walk from beautiful beaches which stretch almost as far as Denia, Oliva has the feel and charm of an inland village. The beach strip is lined with holiday villas and apartments but development remains low-level and discreet. The town is steeped in history, with the remains of a Moorish castle, a maze of narrow cobbled streets and two pretty domed churches. The newer area of town is the place to shop, including in the covered market where you can buy all sorts of local produce, and locals congregate around the paseo in the evening, in the many bars and restaurants.

Property here is very reasonably priced and tends to be either rural fincas or tall, thin townhouses and apartments. There are small rustic properties ready for renovation between Oliva and Pego for about £30,000 or for around £40,000 you can get a three-storey townhouse in the centre of Oliva in need of total renovation. Even large apartments and townhouses in good condition can cost little more than £60,000 and for £120,000 you can buy a beautifully renovated three-storey townhouse with an internal patio

Pego

Pego is set in a stunningly beautiful area of the northern Costa Blanca, with unspoilt views of sea, mountains and countryside in every direction. Though only a short drive from the coast, you really feel you are at the heart of inland Spain - a combination that is becoming increasingly attractive to foreign property buyers in the region. The lively town is set amid a patchwork of fields and as you leave Pego and head for the Guadalest valley, you pass terraced hillsides of almond and orange trees. The light here is exquisite and winters are mild. The typically Spanish town is a sea of orange trees, amid which you'll find all the shops, bars, restaurants and services you'll need, including a school with a very good reputation. There are three golf courses within easy reach with another one recently granted permission, along with 1,300 new houses just outside of the town centre.

Property is relatively cheap (there is a lot available for £50,000 - £100,000) and ranges from old townhouses and fincas in need of serious work to modern apartments a few kilometres from the centre of Pego with shared pools, gyms, restaurants and mini golf courses for about £75,000. Monte Pego, near the town, is an exclusive residential development a in a beautiful setting overlooking the Pego valley.

Jalon and Orba

The Jalon and Orba areas feature a series of attractive hills and valleys with impressive mountain backdrops where you will come across several small and unspoilt towns, despite their close proximity to the larger coastal resorts of the Costa Blanca. The local agriculture includes orange groves, almonds, vineyards and olives. Residing slightly inland gives you the advantage of more space for less cost and also an opportunity to live in rural Spain. Despite this they are not isolated by any means, both have foreign residents, popular markets and are within easy reach of the coast. No wonder these two areas, with their natural beauty, deep-routed customs and genteel and hospitable nature, attract a number of visitors. They both enjoy an eminently Mediterranean climate, with average temperatures of 10 degrees in winter and 25-30 degrees in the summer.

Benitachell

This small Spanish town lies in the hills above the coast between Moraira and Javea. At its heart is the old church set in a typical Spanish square. Benitachell is a charming and tranquil town where life moves at the gentle but joyful pace of the Spanish Mediterranean coast and maintains the traditional lifestyle. There is a school and there are shops and many bars and restaurants, but the main charm of this pretty inland town is its elevated position and splendid views.

Cumbre del Sol

This area lies in the very heart of the Costa Blanca. The residential areas which are comprised of villas, chalets, bungalows, and apartments, lie on a truly outstanding location. The different communities are naturally separated by the preserved areas of the landscape. Its total surface area of 3,700,000m2 is completely surrounded by National protected areas and the Mediterranean. The beauty of the landscape inspires tranquillity not common in coastal towns. However, services and amenities that are offered in equal value: a bank, cafeteria, restaurants, stables, golf, tennis courts, a 1,200sqm supermarket and a large shopping centre with over 20 shops.

Everything is located in the municipal district of BENITACHEL, between the well known towns of Javea and Moraira, and only 12km away from Calpe and its impressive Ifach Rock, symbol of the Costa Blanca. The cosmopolitan attraction of Benidorm (theme parks: Terramitica and Aqualandia) are 32km away. Benissa

Benissa is a beautiful and pleasant town, surrounded by the rocky mountains of Bernia, the Solana, Olta, Verda Mesh and the sea and is at the end of a long narrow valley. Its raised, narrow cobbled streets, white fronted houses and old buildings preserve the medieval beauty of Benissa, almost as though it has been caught in time. The main hub of life is to be found beside the marina and its main beach, although the town itself is situated a few kilometres inland. For beach-lovers, there's over 4km of coastline and five main beaches, the most well known is the Playa de la Fustera it has fine, white sand and crystal clear water. There's shopping, harbours, fine restaurants, small mountain villages, sailing, tennis and golf courses nearby. This area is known to be one of the warmest locations in Spain in the winter, because it is in a sheltered pocket between the mountains and the sea.

Sagra

Sagra is a lovely town in the heart of the Costa Blanca, only a few kilometres from the best beaches and well connected with the other main villages like Jalón and Benidoleig and with good access to the highway that goes to the Alicante Airport. Its charming streets and friendly people makes Sagra a typical Mediterranean town. Surrounded by oranges groves with delicate aroma of orange blossom,its position near rocky mountains makes it a truly spectacular contrast. The upper part of the town has incredible views to the valley.

Just 30 minutes drive away are the coastal towns of Denia and Javea, with their wide range of sandy beaches, rocky coves and cliffs where you will be able to indulge in all manner of nautical sports. Two golf courses (La Sella, in Denia, and Javea Golf, in Javea) are nearby. La Sella is an 18 hole course (Javea is a 9 hole) where players all of levels will play surrounded of Mediterranean nature.
